Pink again and this time paired with cornflower blue for a retro vibe. It works well on a page about my cupcake addiction. To create a happy, careful mood I add in red in the form of a polka dot die-cut and glitter alphas in my title.
Instead of my usual pattern paper background, I chose to create a script background on cardstock with my journalling. Confining the text only to the right makes a negative space on the left that acts as a border. It's a design trick I picked up while going through old issues of Octavo by the iconic design firm of 8vo.
In fact this page is a real departure from my normal scrapping style in that I use virtually no pattern paper. It's all embellishments from the Citrus Twist Main and Embellie Kits including this doily which makes such a pretty frame for my photo and the cascade of peach enamel dots that adds to the 'yum' factor.
I tuck a pink tag into the Amy Tangerine vellum pocket to help the printed design stand out more. Then dress it up with a stitched heart, a flair button and a die-cut frame coated with a pale wash of yellow water-colour. And contrary to the normal practice of placing some hidden journaling at the back of the tag, I'll admit I've written nothing there. Instead the whole story is printed out, in ultra large sized font, on the background cardstock.
