This final card designed for Lowri McNabb's blog features a trendy motif - the feather. Here a chipboard version from the Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic collection sits pretty on top of a series of journal cards from Amy Tangerine. These classic patterns (ledger, star, chevron) in subtle neutrals are ideal for layering. Although I piled on five layers the final effect doesn't seem overwhelmingly busy.
This was for Liz
The other thing I've had fun with for this series of cards is styling the photography. Although the cards carry quite a lot of detail, I think it's still interesting to dress up the background. It aids the viewer in gauging the size of the cards and livens up the blog. Here I grabbed what's sitting around the house during chinese new year for props : ruffia from hampers received, burlap from peanut packaging and a homemade cookie.
