Ribbon Ruffles
On this second day of the lunar new year I'm also sharing the second of my guest design project for Lowri McNabb's blog. I used Amy Tangerine supplies and softened up the colour palette with the addition of light peach and yellow - traditionally auspicious colours for chinese new year.
Continuing with the challenge to incorporate ribbons creatively into my cards, I gathered a yellow chevron from May Arts into a ruffle. Then for an even more casual feel, I pinched sewing thread into a ball and secured a few loops beneath the paper layers.
In the main photo is one of my unsuccessful attempts at festive baking. The almond cookies taste yummy but don't look anywhere near pretty enough to serve up to guests. I think it'll be just family who'll be eating them.
Wishing everyone who celebrates, a very happy Year of the Snake !

Your card is gorgeous, Sandy! Thanks for sharing it. And I think that your cookie looks wonderful! You might just drizzle a teensy bit of white chocolate if you're not pleased with it? Looks perfect to me! Hugs...

So beautiful Sandy, LOVE the colors!!! And a late Happy New Year!! :-)
Happy Year of the Snake, Sandy, I hear that the first 6 months are gonna be very fruitful for all of us! And don't worry about the cake, I can tell that it is full of flavors and very tasty. And what can I say about the beautiful card, with sunshine yellow, perfect for Spring? Pinned it, just like the others!
Beautiful!! I love how you did the ribbon

This ribbon treatment is just fantastic! I may have a go at this myself, although I'm sure it won't turn out nearly as well as yours has :)
