Beach Blonde

After crushing on neutrals last month, I'm happy to play with bold colours again. I went for red and black  on this layout of my niece on a 2004 vacation in Western Australia. All that time in the sun and sea turned her almond brown hair blonde.

Since completing my Hazy Grey Sky layout, I'm hooked on the possibilities offered by the angled-column design. For this page using Citrus Twist's December Add-on Kit I incorporated two twists : partially disguising one block as an embellishment cluster and introducing dimension to another by including asterisk and dot thickers.

A straight-on gaze from the photo's subject is certainly a powerful device for drawing in the viewer's attention. However it can be just as effect when designing pages to use those shots where the subject is looking off-camera. Here I did a close-crop with the photos so her downward gaze directs your attention down to the title block and the extensive journalling.

For those of you excited to find out what Trina has in store for you with the January Citrus Twist kits, I can report fun embellishments and versatile papers. Will work on sneaking you a card peek next week.

Linking up to these parties.

Citrus Twist Dec Add-On Kit : Studio Calico Yearbook Most Likely, Basic Grey Paper Cottage Flair Stickers & Backgammon, Kaisercraft Check In Delayed, MME The Sweetest Thing Honey One of A Kind Label Stickers,  Crate Paper On Trend Stand Outs, Amy Tangerine Journal Thickers, Doodlebug Beetle Black Twine, Citrus Twist Exclusive Stamp. Others : grey cardstock, staples
