Bye Carrefour
As the year draws to a close the mood of economic uncertainty continues to linger in Singapore. A spade of retailers are leaving our shores. Borders went last year, one of our flagship scrapbook store is decamping to Indonesia and, last month, Carrefour closed its doors. I snapped a picture of the fresh food aisle on my last shopping trip and scrapped a farewell to this much-loved French supermarket.
For this month's Citrus Twist Main Kit layout, I build a large triangle using journal cards and tags. Inside this triangle sit my photo, journaling and several layered stickers. A kraft doily was strategically cut apart to yield four pieces that serve to soften the triangular shape.
In order to get my photo to span the height of the triangle a little trickery is required. I extended the picture's height by sandwiching a label sticker between two rows of fruit baskets. To create a greater focus I chose to mat the photo with a grid pattern from the Amy Tangerine sticker packaging instead of printing it with a normal white border.
I figured if I'm scrapping about grocery shopping I can get away with including that signature Amy Tangerine citrus slice and the paper label from Crate Paper's Acorn Avenue. What do you think ? Is it just a tad themey ?
Now to find another supermarket that sells absinthe as I plan to serve Hemingway's cocktail at our Christmas party ...
Linking up to these parties.
Citrus Twist Nov Main Kit : Amy Tangerine Ready Set Go (Why Thank You, Sure Thing Dimensional Stickers), Crate Paper Acorn Avenue Tag Cuts, Studio Calico Yearbook Valedictorian, October Afternoon 9 to 5 Girl Friday, Prima Alpha, Washi Tape, Citrus Twist Exclusive Stamp, Maya Road Die-Cut Kraft Doily, cream thread, vintage buttons
Others : gold sequins

What a wonderful hommage to your favourite supermarket Sandy, didn't know Carrefour was performing so badly in S'Pore... Your page is another fab combination of papers and embellies!
